More details:

No more than a round of golf at Aviara Golf Club - fun and challenging challenging but fair holes, great conditions, close to perfect greens, upscale amenities and unparalleled service. This is why the Aviara Golf Club is recognized by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best golf courses in the southern US and one of the best golf courses in America by Golf Digest (No. 18 in the 'Top 75 Golf Resorts'). as well as for winning Golf Magazine's Gold Medal Resorts Award.

Aviara was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1991 at the Hyatt Aviara AAA Five Diamond Park in Carlsbad. Palmer created a masterpiece that exploits the natural terrain and overlooks the beautiful Batiquitos Lagoon, an ecological reserve considered to be one of the most important wetlands in the United States.

Playing Aviara is as much playing golf as admiring the beauty of the landscape: it is as if you were pushing a golf ball in a beautiful botanical garden, while snaking in three natural valleys with 7 lakes, cascading waterfalls. waterfall, bubbling streams and a variety of majestic trees. and a beautiful colorful fauna of reds, whites, lavenders, purples and yellows.

If you can look away from all the pleasure of the eyes, you will enjoy a fun and challenging course with a difference of almost 300 feet; fairways with berms, mounds and contour lines; many bunkers; and difficult greens. In addition, Aviara Golf Course has many subtle illusions that can cost you a shot, some of which include: the prevailing winds to manage, the changes in altitude that can add 300 to 400 meters, the heavy air of the coast that impacts your distance and the greens upstream.

Like most courses he designed, Arnold Palmer made the Aviara Golf Club challenging, but fair and playable. This is one of those courses that will not beat you, but that can challenge your management and skills. As such, you may not achieve one of your best scores, but you will certainly have a memorable party, a great time will want to come back again and again.

Each hole has unique characteristics and is a little different from the previous ones. The par 3 are breathtaking. For example, the 3 is a 'jaw-dropper' - a 150 meter transfer over a sparkling pond to a green with a waterfall on the right side, a stream that protects the left side and a vibrant red, yellow and white fauna that extends to the back. All par 3's are also picturesque and most other holes are equally impressive.

Other features you'll come across to make it a memorable one include:
- climbs and descents on well kept greens
- several birdie opportunities for risk takers
- bunkers of all sizes and shapes, most of which are strategically placed
- fairways with berms, mounds and many contour lines - some can feel like roller coasters
- a friendly Marshall who distributes Tootsie Pops to cheer you up
- complex greens that can add a few hits to your turn
- four exceptional end holes but that can ruin your score if you do not manage the course well and select the right club.
The fairways are almost perfect and most have curves, slopes or undulations - the paths are lined with trees and many landscaping. The fairways are of varying width and most have a playable rough. Some huge mansions overlook the course and line some of the fairways.

The greens are fast (10 to 11feet i.e. 3m to 3m30 speed)
