About Silver Lakes - Mindbreaker

The Silver Lakes Mindbreaker Golf Course, located Anniston/Gadsden, Alabama is one of the 9-hole courses of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The Mindbreaker is an unforgettable blend of shorter, elusive holes set in a beautiful sanctuary of woods, water and wetlands.

The version proposed on simulator at Golf en Ville is 18 holes combined with the Mindbreaker on the front and the Backbreaker on the back, which makes 6779 yards from the back tees.

Course tips - hole by hole

Hole 1
The Mindbreaker course begins with a great opportunity for a birdie, so come out swinging on the opening tee of this short par 5. The hole doglegs right with bunkers on the left and a well-placed drive will leave you a chance to go for the green in two.

Hole 2
The second hole is a beautiful par 3 that plays entirely over water. The steep embankment is in front of the green, so any shot hit short will roll back into the water or into a deep greenside bunker. A safe play is to the center of the green, especially if the pin is in the front.

Hole 3
A semi-blind tee shot must split the middle of three fairway bunkers to start well on this par 4. The green is tilted at an angle away from the fairway and a large bunker guards the front, so accuracy is a key with your approach.

Hole 4
Take more club than you need on this short hole. A nasty pot bunker sits below the front of the green and any shot left short will make it nearly impossible to get up-and-down for a par. The mounds behind the green will bring back any tee shot that misses long.

Hole 5
There is not much trouble to worry about on the Mindbreaker's final par 5, so rip it off the tee for a chance to get home in two. The green is well protected by bunkers and there is not much room for a run-up shot, so your approach must be all carry.

Hole 6
The sixth hole plays much longer than its yardage because of how high the green sits above the fairway. Aim right off the tee to avoid a bunker and then make sure to add at least one club with your approach to the elevated green.

Hole 7
Try to play your drive to use the left-to-right slope of the fairway to shorten this dogleg right. The difficult approach is to a very undulated green protected by two pot bunkers and a large bunker to the left.

Hole 8
Leave the driver in the bag on this tight par 4. The fairway slopes to the right down towards a creek, so aim left on the tee to avoid danger. Your second shot with a mid to short iron must carry the creek to find a green protected by two bunkers.

Hole 9
The final hole is an uphill par 4. Try to play near the left fairway bunker off the tee to leave yourself with the best angle on your second shot. It is critical that your approach finds this well-bunkered green to avoid bogey.
